The Microvisor works as advertised and really decreased the amount of smoke and fumes going up on the face of my cabinets and onto the ceiling. I did order the clip on LED light that was advertised on their website and I'm glad I did because the light of my microwave is somewhat hidden with the Microvisor and I really like direct light when I'm cooking.

I purchased the standard-sized removable version in stainless steel. If review was solely based on the hood itself it would be a definite 5. It is well-build and exceeds my expectations. Very easy to install, as well.
My only misgiving is based on… read more having a Samsung microwave with the grease filter access through a front-facing tray. I purchased the needed adaptor but that proved to not be esthetically pleasing. The visor sat awkwardly low and the gap between brackets (albeit needed for grease vent) leaves a gap that lets the range light through, which dramatizes the gap. When installed, it stops looking like a seamless part of the unit.
I wish the adapter included some sort of dummy plate that would fill the gap and make it somewhat look like a continuous piece. That would have perhaps helped. That said… I devised a way to convert the pop-out grease filter to a bottom one, allowing me to mount the unit without the Samsung adaptor.
I use the visor almost daily and it is performing exactly as described.
Pros:
- The product itself works exactly as described. When extended, it does a pretty good job of exhausting the front half of my cooktop. Not perfect, but significantly better than it did prior to installing this. The front of my microwave no longer… read more is covered in condensation, which I know was a leading factor in the demise of my previous microwave/hood.
- It's well built, installs easily, and came with good instructions.
Cons:
- Expensive for what it is, which is essentially some bent metal pieces and some screws. Hats off to them, though, because I don't know of another item on the market that is equivalent to this without being built into the actual microwave/hood itself.
- For obvious reasons, you really need to have this extended any time you wish to exhaust your cooktop. When closed, it will block the vent under the microwave. I'm going to have to train myself to extend it, even when only using one of the back burners. Not a deal breaker.

When I was in the process of purchasing it from their website, it had a space available at checkout for "coupon code". Like many other people, I Googled to see if there were any active coupons that I could apply to my purchase. I tried all the various codes that came up and inevitably, every single one of them came up as "not a valid code". Except one... The one that did come up as a valid (but expired) code at checkout at the Microvisor website? "TRUMP". I find it odd that a company would advertise their political leanings like this, especially for an item that I would think tends to appeal more to people on the left-leaning end of things. Much like Tesla is now realizing, it's probably best to keep that stuff to yourself or you risk ostracizing a good portion of your target market. Worth sending back? I'll be honest... I seriously thought about whether to buy it. If they had a viable competitor, I probably would have bought from their competitor. In the end, my desire to properly address my kitchen exhaust outweighed my disapproval of the (theoretical) political leanings of the company. Do with that information what you will.

Installation was easy,and so far I like how well it works. One minor downside… More is when it is in the retracted position it blocks microwave light, so you have to pull it out to have light. No biggie.

More importantly, it works! When frying things on our stove, the cabinets above would get covered with junk. Now, nothing. I've watched the smoke rise from the side and the hood catches a lot more than before.

While there were some delays in freight, mostly due to the holidays, the company worked with me. I would very much recommend their products for friends or anyone that has suffered with a smoky kitchen and limited venting under standard over the range microwaves.
Awesome product. I have an externally-vented microwave exhaust hood, but steam/smoke/fumes… More often escaped to the front due to the somewhat weaker suction of my setup. If only there was some way to extend the 'reach' of my microwave, a scoop of sorts? It might not increase the suction but it would direct more to the exhaust ports. It would have to look good, almost 'factory', and preferably be easy to remove for cleaning/not-in-use. I thought this thing would be my great invention, but Microvisor beat me to it apparently! It's simple, easy to install and remove, and just a solid product. No crazy sharp edges I could find. Took me less than 10minutes to install, while drinking my morning coffee. Customer service was responsive too, when I ordered the wrong item at first.
We bought the Microvisor Hood because our microwave is mounted above our stove… More (range) and also acts as the exhaust fan. This was an issue in our last house too. When I read about the Microvisor Hood, I just had to try it. The Microvisor Hood should be offered by every microwave manufacturer as an accessory for over the range mounting. It works exactly as described and directs the smoke, fumes etc... to the exhaust fan of the microwave instead of into the air. It was very simple to install and took only minutes with 2 people. It also looks like it came from the factory as part of the microwave.
Instructions and video were not good. Rear magnets were weak and I had to loosen… More front screws so the magnets would hold but also had to remove rear screws because the magnets would not grab because those screws were in the way. Finally got it to hold, boiled some water to try it out and steam was escaping through the front upper opening and I have one of the best microwaves that has a pretty powerful exhaust fan. Very disappointed. Over priced for what you get. I am capable of modifying it but why do they sell something that clearly needs to be improved?

This is a good product and I couldn't find anything similar on the market.… More Installation wasn't that hard and delivery was good. The hood helps exhausting though it doesn't take care of everything. It would be good if they sealed the gap between the deployed hood and the microwave, but that's only a minor source of additional leakage.

My only complaint is that there was only 1 little screw provided for attaching the hood to the slides, so I went to Lowe's who was unable to duplicate it, other than thread, so the right side only closes partially. This hood has been a miracle!! Because we didn’t have a hood anytime we cooked… More anything that had any form of oil in it. It ended up all over our microwave and cabinets that are above the stove, this hood has completely changed that! There is no longer any mess above our stove when cooking. In the best part, it is super easy to install. My only complaint if any is I wish I would’ve known about this sooner!!

I tried to find a microvisor hood and discovered that this is the only available… More maker and seller. The size of the product fits perfectly to attach with the microwave, and the installation is very simple. However, the hood does not fully capture all the fumes from cooking. It manages to catch about 80% of the fumes and steam, while the remaining 20% escapes from the sides and front. In terms of effectiveness, it works at about 80% efficiency. Still, installing it is clearly better than not having one at all.
